Project Manager

Project Manager provides easy control of your projects. It provides access to all Cradle systems that are accessible to the user (usually only one) and all projects defined in the Project Register(s) of these Cradle system(s).

Therefore, Project Manager may be used as the entry point to Cradle tools and projects.

You can define a project hierarchy for each Cradle system that has some or all of the projects defined in the Project Register of that system, grouped into any tree structure that is meaningful to the end users.

Attributes can be set to characterise a project. These are defined in the project hierarchy for all projects in a Cradle system, and also for each project. The project hierarchy defines:

1. What attributes are to be held for each project
2. The values of these attributes for each individual project listed in the project hierarchy
3. The hierarchy of these projects

A default set of searchable, optional project attributes is provided in the project hierarchy which are modifiable by appropriately authorised users:

• Alias - An alias ID for the project, such as an alternative project ID number
• Division - The company division doing the project
• Branch - The company branch doing the project
• Customer - The name of the customer of the project
• Reference - The RFP or ITT reference number for the project
• Inception Date - The start date for the project
• Purpose - The purpose or intent of the project
• Summary - A summary of the project
• Description - A brief description of the project

The project hierarchy groups and sub-groups projects in any desired manner. The top of the hierarchy is the Cradle system. As the names in the hierarchy are user-definable, a Cradle project could appear more than once in a project hierarchy. The folder will have a different name but the project is exactly the same.

The hierarchy provides a simple method for users to locate the project in which they want to work and then launching:

• Web Access
• Document Loader
• Document Publisher
• Spellchecker

CDS control and management

The same Project Manager interface is used by privileged users to control starting and stopping both the Cradle Database Server (CDS) and Cradle Web Server (CWS).

Licence usage and CDS status

Management can easily see the status of the Cradle system and which users are currently active.

Reports

Project Manager can be used to produce hardcopy usage and status information along with details of your project schema.
