Evaluation Start-Up

Open the following Microsoft® Word® document:

Car Park Requirements

Select the entire table.

Select the Capture data from a Word document icon in the toolbar.

This opens the Cradle capture dialogue:

Word Capture
The login details are the same as for Workbench or Toolset.

Click on Capture Settings.

Ensure that the item type setting is Requirements and 'Each Selected table row into a separate item' has been selected .

Click on Table Details:

Then you need to Assign the table columns so that the data captured by each column is correct. Select the correct column values as shown :

Select First
Select Second
Then click on:
Identity Number <-- Assign
Version Version <-- Assign
Draft Draft ID <-- Assign
Name Name <-- Assign
Requirement Details TEXT <-- Assign

Assign Columns

Then click on Capture

You have now captured the requirements into your Cradle® Project.

Steps:

  1. Create a project using the Cradle MenuDone
  2. (a) Capture Requirements from a Microsoft® Word® document You Are Here.
    (b) Capture Requirements from a Microsoft® Word® document using Document Loader.
  3. Link the Requirements into a hierarchy using Drag and Drop.
  4. Import Diagrams in WorkBench
  5. Manually link Requirements to Functions
  6. Produce matrix from Requirements to Functions
  7. Produce matrix from Functions to Architecture
  8. Create User Requirement Document in Publisher.
  9. Produce a final document showing links from Requirements to Functions, links from Functions to Architecture and transient links from Requirements to Architecture and the Final Specifications.
