Step Five

Produce matrix from requirements to functions.

Having cross references between items of different types allows you to view your project from different perspectives and follow the relationships that exist between different parts of the project.

A method of achieving this in Cradle is to create metrics or matrices of linked items.

To create a matrix, open a new pane and right click and select 'New Matrix...'

Then select the following options in the Matrix dialog:

Matrix 1

Then click in the Show drop-down: and select Row Queries:
Matrix 2
Click on Add and then on Query:Spec - Essential Function-All
Select Title view: Spec - Full

Then click in the Show drop-down: and select Row Queries:
Matrix 3
Click on Add and then on Query: Requirements - All
Select the Title view: Req - Details.

Then click 'New'

This then creates the following Matrix:

matrix-complete.
