Cradle is a whole lifecycle tool comprising of a number of modules that can be accessed via a number of interface components. You purchase licences for the modules you require to perform your task.
- The Modules are:
- PDM (Project Data Management)
- REQ (Requirements Management)
- MET (Metrics)
- SYS (Systems Modelling)
- PERF (Performance Modelling)
- SWE (Software Engineering)
- DOC (Document Generation)
- WEBA (Web Access)
- WEBP (Web Publishing)
- WRK (WorkBench)
Licences are purchased to use specific modules or a combination of modules. The way you purchase and utilise licences can be very flexible.
- Licences can be:
- Floating
- Dynamic
- Low cost read only
- Shareable
The modules themselves can be accessed via one or more components. The components are interfaces, each designed for a different kind of user and some designed for specific tasks. Most functions can be performed within the main Toolset component. These functions would include project and user setup, systems modelling (utilising a SYS licence), software engineering (SWE) or performance modelling(PERF), The Toolset interface is complicated and is designed for serious engineers.
Project Management functions can be performed in WorkBench or WEBA. These functions include setting up projects (PDM) user access and user privileges, managing requirements (REQ) linking user requirements to system requirements etc. Creating links between items of different types and viewing the relationships between different items from a number of angles. Creating metrics (MET) to view the relationships in a meaningful context.
The Documentation, requirements loading, document generation can be performed by the Document Generation module utilising the DOC Document Generation Licence.
