Risk Scheduling
The purpose of risk scheduling or 'planning' is to establish a total program plan for risk management so that the program can achieve and maintain an acceptable level of risk. The results should be included in the System Engineering Management Plan and risk should be considered in defining the System Engineering Management Schedule.
The Risk Management Organisation should have the power and tools to ensure that the risk activities are properly implemented and resources appropriately allocated. The Risk Management Organisation draws upon all program technical/management personnel and resources to perform the risk tracking and control of performance against specified requirements and cost/schedule against budget.
Risk Scheduling is the continuing process of developing an organised, comprehensive approach to risk management. The initial planning includes establishing a strategy; establishing goals and objectives; planning assessment, handling, and monitoring activities; identifying resources, tasks, and responsibilities; organising and training risk management IPT members; establishing a method to track risk items; and establishing a method to document and disseminate information on a continuous basis.
