Replacing View Cell Values

WorkBench views have been extended so that if the to-be-printed contents of a view cell match a regular expression then a replacement string can be shown:

This mechanism can be used for any cell in any view.

One use of this new mechanism is to produce a Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM). If the requirements in a project have a category called Verify Method with values:

Inspection

Analysis

Demonstration

Test

and this attribute is shown four times in a view, where each column has a regular expression for one of these values and the string X is to be used if the category matches the expression:

Then the result is an X in the Inspection column if the requirement’s Verify Method category’s value is Inspection, and a X in the Test column if the requirement’s Verify Method category’s value is Test and so on, such as:
