Item Specific Alerts

The Cradle alerts mechanism delivers messages to users through Cradle, or e-mail, or both. Alerts can be produced when a variety of events occur in a Cradle project.

The alerts mechanism has been extended to allow any of a set of alerts to be triggered by events that are specific to each type of information in a Cradle database, including user-defined types of information:

Using this extension, you can specify which events will trigger alerts for each type of information in your project.

So, for example, if you want alerts to be produced whenever a new customer requirement is created, but not when a new risk is created, then the extensions in Cradle-6.3 provide this facility, and also allow you to control whether alerts are generated if items are modified or deleted for each type of item in your schema.

All controls over alerts have been moved from the Miscellaneous group in the project schema into a new Alerts group. The item-specific alerts are enabled by an Enable All checkbox in the Item Alterations group. When item type-specific alerts have been enabled, the Summary display shows which item type-specific alerts have been enabled for each item type defined in the schema:
