Export Formats

If you expect to perform a particular export regularly, then you can save the setup of the export in an export format. Export formats are a type of definition, like queries, views and forms. You save an export format by selecting Save Format… in the Export Information dialog:

and specify a name and a scope:

You can load a previously-saved export format by clicking Export Format… in the dialog and choosing the desired export format from the resulting list:

Export formats can also be specified to the c_io command-line import and export utility, so that once an export has been defined in the Cradle UI, it can be run from the command line, for example as part of an automatic archive or data synchronisation process in a UNIX/Linux cron job or a Windows scheduled task.

Export formats can be defined for all types of export, not just for exporting CSV files.
