CMS Unsubmit in WorkBench

The Cradle Configuration Management System (CMS) can be used to process items through a series of formal reviews to place them into a baseline where they are protected from change. Each of these reviews is a three stage process:

  • A user submits items for review
  • The reviewers review each items
  • The items are registered, into a baseline or a team in the project’s team hierarchy

Items can be unsubmitted, which cancels their reviews. An item can be unsubmitted if its review has not started. A review has not started if none of the reviewers has either approved or rejected the item.

Items can be unsubmitted by selecting Admin → Configuration Management → Unsubmit:

to display the Unsubmit dialogue:

Selecting an item type from Item Type at the top of the dialogue lists all items of that type that can be unsubmitted. The contents of this list can be filtered using the Unsubmit listbox. To unsubmit the items shown in the list, select Unsubmit.

The addition of this capability to WorkBench means that all parts of information reviews in the CMS can now be performed from WorkBench, except for registering items once their review is complete, which must still be performed from Toolset.
