Domain IDs
In Cradle-5.6, all use of the term Model ID has been replaced by the term Domain ID in Cradle UIs, help text and documentation. The Domain ID identifies a piece of modelling information:
- A diagram
- A specification
- A data definition (also called a DD entry)
as being part of one of the two domains provided by each Cradle database:
- Essential domain, Domain ID E, for implementation-independent analysis models
- Implementation domain, Domain ID I, for architecture and design models
This name change is to avoid confusion that could otherwise occur when a major extension to the modelling capabilities provided by Cradle occurs in a future release.
