Import/Export in WorkBench

Bulk import and export facilities have been added to WorkBench that provide the same capabilities as those provided in Toolset, including the ability to define and use both export format and import format definitions to create standardised exports and imports for consistent data import and export. These export formats can also be used in the Project Manager tool to copy information between project databases using drag-and-drop within the project hierarchy.

The new import and export facilities are accessed from the File pulldown menu:

Selecting Export... produces the Export Information dialogue:

and selecting Import... displays the Import Information dialogue:

whose features and behaviours are the same as the corresponding dialogues in Toolset.

Import and export formats are shown in the WorkBench Master Tree:

and by selecting Admin → Definitions Manager... they can be manipulated through the Definitions Manager as for any other types of definition (queries, views and so on):
