Cross References to Data Definitions

Cradle-5.6 allows cross references to data definitions (also called DD entries) in both the Essential and Implementation domains’ Data Dictionaries (DDs).

Cross references are provided:

  • From the pre-defined requirements item type to these data definitions
  • From these data definitions to project-specific item types (system notes)

This support is enabled throughout Cradle tools, including:

  • Toolset’s Cross Referencer tool
  • Hierarchy Diagrams (HIDs) that show items and their cross references graphically
  • Hierarchy definition files to specify characteristics for such HIDs
  • Drag-and-drop in WorkBench
  • Link rules in the Project Setup tools of WorkBench and Toolset
  • View definitions in WorkBench
  • The Linker tool used to manipulate cross references in Cradle web UIs
  • Generating documents from Document Publisher
