Several 3SL customers have deployed Cradle into an IT environment that includes LDAP, either as Microsoft Active Directory or another LDAP server (such as OpenLDAP).

Although 3SL added more detail to the diagnostics that Cradle generates when linking to LDAP, there can still be some difficulty configuring the Cradle LDAP files, ldap_options and ldap_config.

We have written a technical paper to explain:

• The options that are available for integrating Cradle into a LDAP environment
• How to configure Cradle for your LDAP system
• How to configure your LDAP system if you are new to LDAP

This paper is now available for download from the 3SL website. To access it:

1. Login to the 3SL website and select Downloads
2. Select Type: Overviews and Version: 6.2 and either the 3SL server or our mirror server
3. Find LDAP in the resulting list and select it to download to your local machine
4. Or just type "LDAP" into the search box.

We hope that this will help minimise the difficulties of making Cradle work in your LDAP environment, and vice versa!
