3SL is pleased to advise that we released the Cradle Roadmap in October 2009. This is available for download from the Customer area in our website.
Cradle supports the full systems development lifecycle in one integrated product. This unique coverage means that there are four aspects to Cradle’s evolution:
3SL is committed to evolve Cradle in all of these respects and in doing so to communicate our future plans for Cradle as clearly as we can.
We understand that organisations have large and complex IT architectures and need to plan the evolution of their IT infrastructure very carefully. In particular:
3SL responds to these challenges with:
We will fix the dates of Cradle releases. We will provide increasingly detailed commitments on the contents of releases. This information will be communicated through the roadmap, both in this document and in other 3SL notices.
The Cradle Roadmap defines:
3SL commits to providing not less than one new release at the start of July each year. These will be major releases providing substantial new functionality.
3SL will provide at most 2 interim releases each year, but only where such releases will assist customers’ project schedules.
3SL will provide patch releases to correct any defects that could either damage customer data or which could prevent Cradle being used.
3SL will update the Cradle Roadmap quarterly. We will announce these updates in these newsletters and in other 3SL notices where appropriate.
