Rather than having to send an email, you can display messages on the <em>Cradle login screen<\/em> for all of your <em>Cradle<\/em> users to see. These are called \u201cLogin Messages\u201d, and can communicate any number of things, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A reminder of a confidentiality agreement that may be implicit in your use of <em>Cradle<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The dates and times for any planned server reboots, for example after installing updates to the operating system<\/li>\n<li>Announcements of internal training courses<\/li>\n<li>A daily joke(!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3015\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3015\" style=\"width: 822px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3015 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/login_message.png\" alt=\"How to setup a user login message\" width=\"822\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/login_message.png 822w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/login_message-300x224.png 300w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/login_message-768x574.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3015\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Login Message<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Setup<\/h3>\n<p>The message is written in UTF-8 and so can be in any language. The <em>login message<\/em> appears on the right hand side of the <em>login dialog<\/em>. You can optionally include a <em>checkbox<\/em> that users must select to confirm that they have read the message. A user cannot login until this <em>checkbox<\/em> has been selected. Users must select the <em>checkbox<\/em> every time that they login. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/login-messages-user-acknowledgement\/\">See this blog post for more information. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The login message is stored in the file: <samp>login_message<\/samp> in the <em>admin<em> directory of the Cradle installation on your Cradle server:<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><samp>Linux: $CRADLEHOME\/admin\/login_message<\/samp><br \/>\n<samp>Windows: %CRADLEHOME%\\admin\\login_message<\/samp><\/p>\n<p>This file contains notes which explain how to enter a message into the file, also includes examples.
