That is, it will assume that a <em>Heading 1<\/em> is of higher importance than a <em>Heading 2.<\/em> It is important to remember that the document structure is more complex than just making a title by &#8216;increasing the font size&#8217;. Switching <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/use-outline-view-to-manage-headings-and-arrange-text-5e4c6831-b495-4aec-a7b8-7899b0ffda04?ui=en-us&amp;rs=en-us&amp;ad=us\">views to &#8216;Outline&#8217;<\/a> can help you understand how <em>Word<\/em> see the document. This will assist in preparing your documents for <em>Document Loader<\/em> to parse.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Document Loader<\/em> expects each requirement to be in a single paragraph and formatted with an appropriate heading style to indicate its level in the hierarchy.\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_1503\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1503\" style=\"width: 778px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1503 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Document-Heading-Styles.png\" alt=\"Screenshot showing different heading styles in document indicating different levels in the hierarchy\" width=\"778\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Document-Heading-Styles.png 778w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Document-Heading-Styles-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Document-Heading-Styles-768x419.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1503\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Document heading styles to indicate level in hierarchy<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Requirement text, figures and other information should be positioned directly beneath the heading and formatted using paragraph style <em>Normal<\/em> or other body text-level style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use separate paragraphs for distinct pieces of information, e.g. Assumption text and Requirement text.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Always use paragraph styles rather than text formatting to change the appearance of a paragraph.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Heading styles apply an outline level to your paragraphs, which tell <em>Document Loader<\/em> about the level of each requirement in the hierarchy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Document Loader<\/em> prefers pictures and OLE objects to be inserted in line with text. This means the picture is positioned in the text layer of the document, rather than floating on top of the text.
