Question: I have images that need to go into a document and want to have captions with them when published, how do I do this?<\/h4>\n

Create a Frame in WorkBench<\/h2>\n

To have captions for images without using RTF<\/em> frames, add a new frame, name it the same as your image frame with the TITLE<\/em> appended to it e.g. PICTURETITLE<\/em> or PICTURE_TITLE<\/em>. Leave this frame as a plain text frame.<\/p>\n

Run or open and item with the image you wish to set a caption for. Then enter the caption for the image in this new text frame.<\/p>\n

Set the Options for Captions in Document Publisher<\/h2>\n

Open your template in Document Publisher and open the Option UI. Select the \u2018Figures and Tables<\/strong>\u2019 tab and enter the name of this frame in the box for \u2018Title frame<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n

If using a default Paragraph Group<\/em> tag without Field tag<\/em>s then a user can add the PICTURE<\/em> frame name to the \u2018Frames to publish after TEXT and NOTES in the default layout\u2019<\/em> under the \u2018Item Frame<\/em>s\u2019 tab.<\/p>\n

This will then output the default layout including the frames from the \u2018Frames to publish after TEXT<\/em> and NOTES<\/em> in the default layout\u2019 option. The text in the PICTURETITLE<\/em> frame is used for the caption for each image. The captions then for each image will then be entered into the List of Figures during publishing.<\/p>\n

Using Field Tags<\/h2>\n

If the user wishes to use Field tags<\/em> the option will work with these too. Add the field tag<\/em> for the image in this case the PICTURE frame<\/em>. As the template is published, the caption for the image is set from the PICTURETITLE fram<\/em>e. Again this will be picked up in the List of Figures<\/em> when published.<\/p>\n

Using the PICTURE frame<\/em> Field tag<\/em>s will also work within a Table<\/em> or an Inserted Table<\/em>. It will output the caption with the image and add it to the List of Figures<\/em> when published.<\/p>\n
