As businesses it should also be a time to reflect what lesson&#8217;s we&#8217;ve learned so far this year now we&#8217;ve arrived at Q3.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"STOCK\">Take Stock<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Which of your projects are on schedule,<\/li>\n<li>Which of your projects are on budget,<\/li>\n<li>Which of your projects are not really being measured?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are all questions that a good PM (Project Manager) should be able to answer quickly and succinctly. Unfortunately that&#8217;s not always the case. Dates and milestones were not clearly defined so schedule is difficult to measure. What part of the budget applies to what part of the solution is not clear so spend can not be measured accurately. How many <em>Requirements<\/em> have actually been split into <em>System Requirements<\/em> or <em>Functional Blocks<\/em> is not calculable.<\/p>\n<h4>Don&#8217;t Panic<\/h4>\n<p>Cradle&#8217;s features can offer assistance with these issues.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cradle offers the ability to link <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.3\/WorkBench\/Other\/project_plans.htm\">Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)<\/a>\u00a0items to Microsoft\u00ae Project allowing a direct connection between the <em>Project Plan<\/em> and packages of work related to designs, functions, tests etc. in the Cradle project<\/li>\n<li>If a <em>Budget<\/em> item is created in Cradle, it could be easily linked to other components of the project. They could then have a category of actual spend. Using Cradle&#8217;s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.3\/Project Setup\/Tasks\/define_calculations_for_items.htm\"> calculation <\/a>facility, these linked items can be totted up and shown in the parent item.\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_2504\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2504\" style=\"width: 1016px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2504\" src=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Aggregate_Spend.png\" alt=\"screenshot of aggregate calculations\" width=\"1016\" height=\"672\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Aggregate_Spend.png 1016w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Aggregate_Spend-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Aggregate_Spend-768x508.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2504\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aggregate Spend with Calculations<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.3\/WorkBench\/Tasks\/create_dashboard.htm\">Dashboards<\/a> are a quick visual aid showing your <em>Key Performance Indicators<\/em> (KPI) showing percentage of <em>Requirements<\/em> with <em>System Requirements<\/em> attached is a good way of monitoring progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Control and Relax<\/h4>\n<p>Move into Q4 with all the project knowledge you need to finish the year on a high.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"7_3\">Cradle 7.3<\/h2>\n<p>We trust you have all had your <em>Security Codes<\/em> for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/cradle-7-3\/\"> Cradle 7.3<\/a> and have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of Cradle. If you haven&#8217;t received your Cradle-7.3 <em>Security Code<\/em> please contact the Support Department <a href=\"mailto:support@threesl.com\">support@threesl.com<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"BANKING\">Banking Changes<\/h2>\n<p>There are some changes afoot for those that deal with 3SL financially.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the 2008 financial crisis, the UK Government has decided that all major banks must protect their personal, retail and most business banking operations from their more risky, often speculative, investment banking and international banking operations.<\/p>\n<p>Most major banks in the UK will do this by\u00a0 creating a new &#8216;ring fenced&#8217; banking operation that is protected from future problems in the financial markets.<\/p>\n<h3>Most of the UK&#8217;s major banks will effect this change in April 2018.<\/h3>\n<p>For 3SL, these banking changes will mean that there will be a new <em>BIC<\/em> (bank identifier code) within the <em>IBAN<\/em> (international bank account number) of all of our bank accounts. In\u00a0 effect, all of the <em>IBAN<\/em>s for our bank accounts will change in April 2018.<\/p>\n<p>It is also possible that banking changes may effect another part of our bank account numbers, called the sort code (similar to the ATA, routing number or\u00a0 branch number codes in other countries\u2019 banking systems). If there is a\u00a0 change to our sort code, the change is likely to occur in January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>If you are an international supplier to <em>3SL<\/em>, or one of our international customers, then it is possible that our IBANs will change in January 2018, and they will definitely change in April 2018 when the new &#8216;ring fenced&#8217; bank in <em>Barclays PLC<\/em> receives its new <em>BIC<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>All of these changes are being completed in advance of the UK Government&#8217;s deadline of January 2019.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that our current <em>IBAN<\/em>s will remain available for 36 months after the change in <em>April 2018<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We will provide<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/banking-changes\/\"> more information as it becomes available<\/a>.
