In this post we will outline the approach that can be used in two main scenarios when one of the parties isn&#8217;t using Cradle:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>One to One &#8211; single need to single response<\/li>\n<li>One to Many &#8211; single need may link to one or more responses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of these scenarios can be further varied by being a &#8216;one off&#8217; or an iterative repeated exchange.<\/p>\n<h2>Scenario 1 -One to One<\/h2>\n<p>This scenario is where the customer has a list of needs and each need will only have one response, you then have the option of capturing the data only once or capturing the needs and responses multiple times.<\/p>\n<h3>Once-only Data Exchange (one to one)<\/h3>\n<p>The simplest approach where your customer\/supplier has a list of needs, you can then respond to each need with values for the new attributes. Only one file needs to be sent which includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Need #<\/li>\n<li>Compliance<\/li>\n<li>Response<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To make this process easier you can set up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.6\/#importexport\/tasks\/save_export_format.htm\">export formats<\/a> with the settings you want so that each time you want to run the process you don\u2019t need to remember what the correct setting is. You can choose to load the export format which will instantly load the settings you have saved.<\/p>\n<p>The customer then merges your response into their needs by importing the file with overwrite set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/import-overwrite-options\/\"><strong>merge<\/strong><\/a>. The customer could also use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.6\/#importexport\/tasks\/save_import_format.htm\">import formats<\/a> so each time you supply an update they have the correct import settings.<\/p>\n<h3>Repeated Data Exchange (one to one)<\/h3>\n<p>Your customer\/customer has a list of needs where there are multiple copies for each need, you would then respond with datestamps so that when the customer imports the file the correct needs are updated.
