{"id":8221,"date":"2023-02-17T10:30:50","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T10:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/?p=8221"},"modified":"2023-01-25T09:39:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T09:39:10","slug":"customising-the-quick-access-bar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/blog\/customising-the-quick-access-bar\/","title":{"rendered":"Customising the Quick Access Bar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WorkBench provides a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.7\/#workbench\/other\/wrk_qab.htm\">Quick<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.7\/#workbench\/other\/wrk_qab.htm\">Access<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.7\/#workbench\/other\/wrk_qab.htm\"> Bar<\/a> that allows you to launch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.7\/#titlepages\/querieswrk.htm\">queries<\/a> by item type from the bottom of the WorkBench main screen. It&#8217;s intended to provide quick and easy access to all of the relevant types of information in your Cradle database.<\/p>\n<h2>Default Queries<\/h2>\n<p>By default, WorkBench is initialised to show a standard (<em>Automatic<\/em>) set of queries each ordered by the <strong>Identity<\/strong> attribute<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All<\/strong> &#8211; Lists all items that you can access.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bottom-Level<\/strong> &#8211; Lists all bottom-level items that you can access. Bottom-level items are items that do not have any cross references from them to other items of the same type. For example,\u00a0 they have no children.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Document<\/strong> &#8211; Lists the latest instance of items that you can access and displays them as a document. For example in <strong>Document<\/strong> style.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Document (Simple)<\/strong> &#8211; A simplified version of the <strong>Document<\/strong> query.<\/li>\n<li><strong>History<\/strong> &#8211; Lists the latest instance of items that you can access and displays them in a view showing change histories.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Latest<\/strong> &#8211; Lists the latest instance of all items that you can access. There can be many instances of each item, such as many versions of the item.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recoverable<\/strong> &#8211; Lists all items that are in a recoverable state.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suspect<\/strong> &#8211; Lists all items that are deemed suspect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top-Level<\/strong> &#8211; Lists all top-level items that you can access. Top-level items are items that do not have any cross references to them to other items of the same type. However, it is likely that you will want to tailor the queries shown in the <strong>Quick Access Bar<\/strong> to meet your own project needs and use the <strong>Project<\/strong> queries and views to display the data.<\/p>\n<p>Note that all automatic queries are ordered by <strong>Identity<\/strong>. You might wish to order your Quick Access Bar queries by <strong>Key<\/strong>, especially when working with hierarchies of items.<\/p>\n<h2>Adding Project Queries to the Quick Access Bar<\/h2>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threesl.com\/cradle\/help\/7.7\/#projectsetup\/tasks\/setup_qab.htm\">Project Setup<\/a>, you can select the item type that you wish to tailor and press the <strong>Quick Access Bar<\/strong> button.
