are not available on most keyboards, so a method of entering them is needed.
Windows provides at least two alternative mechanisms to enter such characters:
The Character Map tool is inside Accessories → System Tools. When started, it displays a UI similar to:
You can select the character(s) required and click Select to put them into the Characters to copy field. Then you can copy and paste them into Cradle using CTRL-C and CTRL-V as normal.
In the bottom-right corner of this window, Character Map also shows the ALT key sequence that will generate that character. These sequences allow you to enter characters directly into Cradle, or any other application.
For example the ALT key sequence for the degree symbol is Alt+0176, and you enter this by:
and the degree symbol will appear.
